The 27.5" Hurrikan NEXT is a mountain bike on nine speeds with hydraulics as standard. A single chainring at the front instead of three removes the front derailleur and half the redundant gears: the chain does not run at an angle, the range still covers any climb, and at a junction there is exactly one lever to think about. SHIMANO BR-MT200 hydraulic brakes are the main difference from mechanical ones: lever effort is minimal, the bite point is predictable, and on a long descent the hand does not tire. The GTMRK 330-HLO-RL/O aluminium suspension fork with lockout lets you switch the travel off on tarmac and bring it back on dirt. The aluminium frame in a 17" size suits riders 168–188 cm tall; 27.5" wheels are the compromise between the roll of a 29er and the acceleration of a 26er. The grey and orange paint carried over onto the fork is the kind you spot from a distance.
